Labor Day Week • Kenaitze Tribal Fish Camp & Campus
During Subsistence Week, regular classroom schedules yield to hands-on cultural immersion. K-4 students and families gather at the Kenai River fish camp to learn salmon smoking, net cleaning, berry preservation, plant identification, and traditional Dena'ina songs.

Kenaitze Elders Storytelling & Dena'ina Word Gathering
Special afternoon session welcoming Tribal Elders to share traditional Dena'ina oral histories, winter preparations, and songs with K-4 classes.
Parent-Teacher Conferences (No School for Students)
Individual parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress, literacy benchmarks, and personalized learning goals.
K-4 STEAM Salmon Ecology Science Expo
Interactive student presentations showcasing salmon anatomy, Kenai River watershed health studies, and data collection.
